Bananas Foster
This recipe also goes really well with french toast for a decadent morning breakfast.
The trick is to make sure you don't add the bananas too soon otherwise they'll cook down too much and be mushy.
Ingredients
- 0.25 cup butter
 - 0.6 cup dark brown sugar
 - 3.5 tablespoons rum
 - 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 - 3 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long)s bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise and crosswise
 - 0.25 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
 - 1 pint vanilla ice cream
 
Instructions
- In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
 - Stir in sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon.
 - When mixture begins to bubble, place bananas and walnuts in pan.
 - Cook until bananas are hot, 1 to 2 minutes.
 - Serve at once over vanilla ice cream.
