= Apple-Cranberry Crumb Pie = * '''Serves:''' 8 * Contributor: Liz Pirnat == Ingredients == === Topping === * 1c all purpose flour * 1/2c brown sugar, packed * 1/3c old-fashioned oats * 3/4t cinnamon * 1/2c unsalted butter, cut into small pieces === Filling === * 4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 3/4" pieces (~5 cups) * 1 16-oz can whole-berry cranberry sauce * 3/4c sugar * 1t cornstarch === Pie === * 9" frozen pie shell, unthawed * Vanilla ice cream == Instructions == 1. Mix flour, brown sugar, oats and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add butter. Rub in with fingertips until mixture resembles crumbly meal. Set aside. 2. Place baking sheet in oven and preheat to 350°F. 3. Toss apples, cranberry sauce, sugar and cornstarch in a large bowl until well blended. 4. Transfer apple-cranberry filling to frozen pie shell, mounding in center. 5. Sprinkle topping over pie and place on baking sheet in oven. 6. Bake for 70 minutes until apples are tender, juices bubble thickly and crust is golden. 7. Transfer to rack and cool for 15 minutes.
